Early Years Montessori located in the Sunset Way estate is committed to the Montessori approach of educating young children. The Montessori approach sees a peace education with focus on the character growth of a child.
As part of this peace education, the children learn to develop respect, independence and confidence in a natural and peaceful environment. Awareness of the surroundings is also a key idea, with the extension of the classroom beyond the four walls. Children are given time to spend in the outdoors, and are also taken to the neighborhood park once a week. At the park, children learn the importance of not littering, and also clean up the park, teaching them to respect the environment as well.
Aiming to deliver unique learning experiences, Early Years Montessori’s bilingual approaches are not commercialized, and are aimed to be fulfilling and meaningful. Early Years Montessori makes a conscious effort to make everything they do meaningful, and to genuinely allow the children to learn. With speech and drama classes as being part of the curriculum, Early Years Montessori aims to put a personal input in their curriculum.
Understanding the importance of the parents’ role, Early Years Montessori educates parents to understand the heart of the school. Parents’ participation is largely required as Early Years Montessori believes the parents should be involved with their child’s learning. The school prepares take-home kits for both parent and child, allowing the parents to be able to guide their children. This creates awareness for the parents regarding their child’s learning. Beyond being trained, teachers at Early Years Montessori have a genuine desire to be an educator, to serve the children.
Field trips are conducted to places such as the turf club, the botanical gardens, and the marine life park. Though such places of field trips are common, it is how Early Years Montessori conducts the field trips that bring out the genuine purpose to learn, making the field trips more than just that. In line with their speech and drama classes, Early Years Montessori also look out for theatre productions, and brings the children to such productions for field trips.
