Digital Preservation of Star Trek Fansite

StarTrek.com.sg is honoured to be selected by a group of post-graduates from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, for their project on Digital Preservation of Cultural and Heritage Value to the community.

Ms Heng Huey Bin, a librarian from the National Library whom we met at the sci-fi fair @ Tampines Regional Library, and her 3 other classmates, Ms Norasyikin Bte Ahmad Ismail, Ms Nureza Bte Ahmad, and Ms Punithajay, are currently pursuing their masters degree in Information Studies at NTU. With the support of their lecturer, Dr Paul Wu (right), they have chosen Star Trek as their research subject for presentation, as they believe that the strong presence of Star Trek fandom is a sub-culture which is worth preserving in Singapore.

The Webmasters and the Forums Administrators of StarTrek.com.sg have unanimously agreed to provide full support to their project. On 10 February 2006 (Friday), Webmaster James Lee had met with team for a preliminary discussion.
