Trekkies interviewed by The New Paper

StarTrek.com.sg took part in The New Paper (TNP) Big Walk in the last 2 years. Last week, StarTrek.com.sg was approached by a reporter from The New Paper, Ms Liew HanQing, for an interview on the TNP Big Walk we participated.

As requested by The New Paper for a group photo with all Star Trek costumers, StarTrek.com.sg has invited a number of active Trekkies to join us on 15 April 2006, Saturday, at Parc Vista private condominium.

Over a dozen of Trekkies turned up, including Dr EMH, Superstar, Techmech, lhs1701, Dori, Fahmi, CptJames, deLancie, Darkman, Sharkie, Valdore, Joran and unimatrix (Richard Gunawan from Indonesia).

Interview of The New Paper

The New Paper reporter Ms Liew HanQing approached several Trekkies who participated at last year TNP Big Walk for an interview, including Trekkies Dr EMH, Darkman, Fahmi and Sharkie.

After a short interview, all Trekkies changed into their proud Starfleet costumes, latex masks and carried the props. The New Paper photographer Alvin instruced everyone into position for a group photo shot.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil ... hey, that's the wrong pose lah, can't see your faces leh!

The final pose to be taken by The New Paper ... a dozen of Humans and a Klingon!

Video Screening

After The New Paper reporter and photographer left, Trekkies continued with their favourite video screening at the lounge.

Mass order of Johnny Lightning Star Trek miniature models from Trekkie Darkman now arrived.

What are they watching? the latest sci-fi movies from Hollywood? ... No, it's the classical Batman & Robin!

Trekkie lhs1701 brough in his DVD player and several classical DVDs including the old Batman and Robin. It's an eye-opener for newer generation of Trekkies to watch the oldies.

We would like to express our gratitude to The New Paper for the opportunity of the interview. We are also grateful to Trekkie Sharkie for introducing our Star Trek community to the press.

Last but not least, we also like to thank all Star Trek fans for the active participation today. We look forward to see you all supporting us in the TNP Big Walk 2006 again.
