To commemorate the late Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, who passed away in the early 90s, StarTrek.com.sg organised a BLOOD DONATION drive at the Blood Bank @ Health Science Authority on 7 October 2006 (Saturday). Several Star Trek fans and friends turned up for the gathering, including Trekkies Garak, Cavey, lhs1701, Techmech, JediJean, LordTyranno and Dr EMH. Blood Donation Despite the bad haze, a number of Trekkies went to the Blood Bank to show support to the drive. Trekkie Garak donated his blood. After the Blood Donation, the Trekkies proceed to Evershine & Century Complex at Beach Road to shop for Surefire torches and other para-military equipment. Despite the prices are steep, the shop owner friendly answered all our enquiries. Next, the Trekkies have a brief stopover at the newly expanded underground shopping / eatery on the basement level of Raffles The Plaza Shopping Centre, before moving on to Orchard Cinieleisure for lunch. Birthday Gift to Administrator Garak After lunch, the Trekkies met with Dr EMH at the Forum Shopping Centre. On behalf of StarTrek.com.sg, Webmaster Dr EMH presented a Birthday Gift, still shrink-wrapped in a carton ordered from overseas, to Administrator Garak in the presence of all Trekkies.
Starfleet Phaser Rifle Props The Trekkies also met up with LordTyranno and his family at the Forum Shopping Centre. LordTyranno distributed the Starfleet Phaser Rifle Props he produced to the 10 Trekkies who have ordered them.
To determine whether the prop is identical in size to the the actual prop used in the movie, we compared the photo taken with a replica picture created from the original mold used in ST:FC. We believe the size is accurate.
After having a drink at the Forum, some of the Trekkies continued to shop at Far East Plaza Falcon Site before heading home. We like to thank all Star Trek fans and friends for the active participation at the gathering. We look forward to see your continued support at the next SEJA Knighting Ceremony next Sunday.
